The newest addition in the rap scene here in Africa, Ay Poyoo has revealed his mentor and godfather in the music industry is Patapaa Amisty.
According to AY Poyoo, Patapaa’s outstanding style and brand in the music industry inspired him from afar to go into music.
In an interview with GNA as monitored by Gossips24.com, Poyoo said, “Patapaa is unique in his own way and doing a great job in the music circles and I applaud him for that.
“I gathered from his uniqueness and created my own style that is why I consider myself the face of Ghana Rap.”
Poyoo who is currently trending in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Tanzania, said he is very optimistic about a bright future and looks to take his music beyond Ghana and possibly grab a grammy in the near future.
He added that he does not pay attention to naysayers as he is so focused on winning and excelling on what he knows how to do best and at the right time he will prove them wrong.
“I don’t pay attention to distractors. I know what I want and I would prove them wrong. I would like to say a big thank you to all those pushing the brand and posting me on various social media platforms and I appreciate all of them,” he added.
