Old Fadama residents ‘fight’ contact tracers from taking blood samples over ritual allegations

Gossips24.com has gathered reports that some residents of Old Fadama, a suburb of Accra prevented health professionals from taking blood samples in the community.

We earlier reported that two persons who tested positive for the novel coronavirus in the vicinity have escaped.

In light of that, health officials were instructed to conduct contact tracing in the community but they were met with stiff resistance.

The residents who had earlier agreed to the exercise strangely opposed the team when they got there on Thursday, April 9,2020.

The community members expressed fears that they suspect they were going to use the blood samples for rituals.

All efforts of discussions that could compel the civilians to allow the health officials to discharge their duties proved futile.

Meanwhile, the whereabouts of the two individuals who have tested positive in the community remains unknown.
