Oby Ezekwesili Responds To Claims of Having Ulterior Motives for Her #ENDSARS Advocacy

Arguably one of the most famous chartered accountants in Nigeria, Oby Ezekwesili has responded to claims of her having ulterior motives for her advocacy in the #EndSARS protests in Nigeria.

In the wake of the ongoing protests by Nigerian citizens in connection to police brutality metered against the Nigerian youth, Oby Ezekwesili has on several occasions spotted openly supporting the End SARS protests.

The former Minister of Education, who was later appointed Vice President for the World Bank’s Africa Region, isn’t new to protests as she has staged multiple protests in Nigeria.

She was part of the pioneers of the Bring Back Our Girls protests, demanding the abducted Chibok schoolgirls to be released to their families.

As she lent her voice to the End SARS protest, some began insinuating she may have ulterior motives.

In the phase of the several allegations levelled against her, one Twitter user who came in support of her wrote, “I don’t care if @obyezeks has ulterior motives, but I salute her encouragement to the youths! A mother.”

Responding to the young man’s tweet, she wrote: “You mean the ulterior motive that made me stand up to the military when I was your age in the 80s and 90s Nigeria? The ulterior motive that makes me frequently ask your Generation to activate your #OfficeOfTheCitizen? Yes, I have ulterior motive. I want Good Governance.”
