“We will secure 10,000 plus votes for Nana Addo in the 2020 elections” – Obour speaks after securing just 296 votes

Former President MUSIGA, Bice Osei Kuffour, widely known as Obour has assured H.E Nana Akufo Addo of 10,000 plus votes in the Asante Akyem South constituency after his defeat in Saturday’s parliamentary primary.

Obour had hopes of unseating the current MP, Kwaku Asante-Boateng who has been in parliament since 2012, but his efforts appeared insufficient to wrestle the candidature from Mr. Asante-Boateng who won by a margin of 68 votes.

Obuor struggled to get 296 votes while his opponent managed 364 votes.

The other contenders, William Yamoah, garnered 38 votes while Edmond Oppong Peprah polled 9 votes with Eric Amofa getting 12 votes.

In a press statement signed by the veteran musician, he congratulated the Asante Akyem MP for a victory well deserved, citing his (Obuor’s) inexperience in the political landscape as a possible reason for the MP’s victory.

He added that despite his loss, he will make sure he works hand-in-hand with the incumbent MP to secure more votes for Nana Addo in the upcoming 2020 elections.

He wrote; “I sincerely want to thank the almighty God for seeing me and my team through a very vigorous campaign. I also want to thank my team and supporters for a great job done. For months we were in the trenches together working hard as always in our bid to unseat a two term member of parliament.
Let me take this opportunity to also congratulate the winner of the fiercely contested election Hon. Lawyer Kwaku Asante Boateng for a great contest. I want to say to him that it is time to roll our sleeves and hit the ground running to consolidate our gains in the 2020 General Elections with the NDC and I fully assure him of my support to ensure that we secure a further 10,000 plus votes for His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo in the 2020 elections.

God bless the New Patriotic Family and continue to bond us together in love. Ghana needs us to continue with the visionary works of our great leader Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo. Kukrudu! Kukruduuuuuu!! Kukruduuuuu!!

Signed
Bice Obour Osei-Kuffour”
