NPP hit by a big blow as Kennedy Agyapong hints to quit politics after 2024

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central has officially announced that he will not seek re-election when his current term ends in 2024.

Mr Agyapong, who has been a member of Parliament for 24 years, said he is stepping down to allow others to explore their political options in order to bring greater development to his constituency.

The NPP firebrand made this revelation while speaking to a crowd of New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters at the party’s annual Delegates Conference in Assin-Fosu.

In his own words;

I’m doing a lot for my people but a whopping 42 per cent of the electorates in the 2020 polls think I’m not doing well, so I’m leaving but would wait patiently to see if any MP can do what I did.”

Even if I’m given 1,000 cows, I will not go back because I want the people to know that I am fighting for their wellbeing and not myself as an MP

He thanked the party’s founding fathers as well as the throngs of grassroots followers who had given the party years of unwavering support.

Kennedy Agyapong also projected the NPP party will break the 8 and continue its good works for mother Ghana.

The lionhearted politician is a key financier of the party. He was part of the few people who fought with the last drop of blood in them to bring Nana Addo and the NPP to power in 2016.

He has made so much contribution to the party hence his resignation from active politics will be greatly felt by the NPP party.
