Notorious armed robbers kill a policeman after stealing 500,000 cedis from GCB bullion van

A gang of a yet to be apprehended armed robbers are reported to have have attacked and killed a police officer guarding a bullion van on the Dunkwa-Obuasi Road.

According to a source, the bullion van which was attacked by these armed robbers attacked happens to be one of the properties of Ghana Commercial bank.

From what we have gathered, the bullion van was heading to New Edubuase from Dunkwa.

A report by the Ghana police service reveals that the robbers were ten in number.

They ambushed the van at Asokwa junction-Obuasi road. The police report additionally divulged that the robbers crossed the bullion van and started shooting at it until the gunshots killed the policeman who was guarding the “mony car”.

The deceased police man’s name has been given as Cpl. Baba Martin of the Dunwah police command.

The robbers made away with GH 500,000 and the gun of the late police officer.
