ELECTIONS 2020: None of our adverts went against free SHS – Mahama clears air

Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has rubbished claims by the New Patriotic Party over free SHS advert.

Recall, vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia says the erstwhile National Democratic Congress government created over 40 adverts in an attempt to destroy the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy promise by the New Patriotic Party.

He made these comments on the back of claims by former President John Dramani Mahama that he was the first to start the free SHS policy.

He said; “They even went to the Supreme Court to stop free SHS. They ran over 40 adverts against free SHS. Today the NDC and their flagbearer are looking at us and saying that they started free SHS.”

“Are they confused or do they think we have short memories? Their prediction of doom for free SHS has not materialized. The results have shown that quality has not been comprised.”

But speaking in an interview with Serwaa Amihere on GHOne TV, the former president of Ghana said his party never ran 40 adverts to condemn the free SHS.

He further stressed that if voted into pwer, he’s never going to abolish the free SHS policy.
