Minister of Information and Culture for Nigeria made an appeal for social media use to be regulated and the citizens have responded.
On Tuesday October 27, the Minister, Lai Mohammed told the House of Representatives Committee on Information, National Orientation, Ethics and Values that major problems of Nigeria were misinformation and fake news.
He therefore suggested that social media needed to be regulated like in China where according to him, ”everything is well censored and well regulated” because they have no Instagram, Facebook and Google.
He also expressed fear that if care is not taken, a war could break through social media.
