Nigeria has recorded the first death arising from Coronavirus, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, reports on Monday.
A tweet sighted on the official Twitter account of the NCDC read; “The 1st #COVID19 death in Nigeria has been recorded. The case was a 67 year old male who returned home following medical treatment in UK He had underlying medical conditions- multiple myeloma & diabetes & was undergoing chemotherapy Our thoughts are with his family “

The country also recorded five new cases today making it 36 confirmed cases, with only 33 being active cases as two have recovered with one dead.
