Just In: Police arrest NDC parliamentary candidate and four others over alleged murder plot

The parliamentary candidate for Agona West on the ticket of the NDC, Paul Ofori Amoah has been apprehended by the Central Regional Police command to assist in investigations into an alleged plot to kill the incumbent MP, Mrs Cynthia Mamle Morrison.

From what the police have gathered, the aspiring MP  is reported to have admitted to issuing cheques found on the four persons the police labelled as ‘suspicious characters’ who were arrested at a hotel in Swedru last Saturday.

Paul Ofori Amoah has been charged on the counts to commit murder and abetment to commit murder.

 During a press briefing by the Public Relations Officer of the Regional Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ms Irene Oppong indicated that the police had picked the cheques belonging to Paul Amoah at the hotel where the suspects were arrested and has been called upon to assist them in investigations.
