The feud between the auditor general and the office of the presidency keeps getting intense and has taken a new twist following Mt Domelevo’s return to his official duties yesterday after serving his 162 days mandatory leave
The sitting president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has asked Mr. Daniel Yao Domelevo to “forcefully” go on retirement.
In a letter dated 3rd March 2021 from the Office of the Presidency, Mr Domelevo is asked to retire because according to records and documents made available to the president’s office by the Audit Service, he should have retired on 1st June, 2020.
“Based on this information, the President is of the view that you have formally left office”, part of the statement reads.
Mr Johnson Akuamoa-Asiedu will be acting as the Auditor General until Nana Addo appoints a substantive Auditor General.
