Mobile Money Agents To Embark On Strike On Thursday (Full Gist)

News information coming in has revealed that the Ghana Mobile Money Agents Association has declared its intention to embark on a nationwide strike coming this Thursday, December 23, 2021, over E-Levy.

According to the statement which they released today they would be embarking on the strike as a means to express their worry to the government over the new tax to be imposed on the electronic services.

The statement which was signed by the association’s general secretary Evans Otumfuo read saying; “We see this levy as very regressive and critical to the survival of our businesses. Consequently, as part of our demonstration on Thursday, December 23 2021, our services as mobile money agents will not be accessible across the country,”.

The Mobile Money Agency further urged all its members to close down their stores on Thurday so they can be able to prove their point to the governement.
