Nigerian army officers killed a number of Boko Haram and ISWAP militants in a coordinated assault on Tuesday.
The operation, which also resulted in the destruction of four gun trucks, took place in Gubio, Borno State.
The terrorists‘ motorcade was shelled by a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) plane, while policemen and soldiers on foot followed those who fled.
Ground soldiers at Gubio were fighting terrorists when the Alpha jet, which was on a different mission, was told to come to their aid.
The police discovered sophisticated firearms, ammo, fragmented jackets, jerry cans, Indian marijuana, sexual enhancement drugs, and a handbook on how to construct explosives.
Another military plane carried out additional airstrikes after militants were spotted in Sambisa along the Parisu – Njimiya axis.
The air raids were successful, according to NAF spokesperson Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet.
