The 2024 Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has attributed the refusal of former President John Dramani Mahama to publicly debate him on national issues and campaign policies, to the former president’s lack of achievements.
In a media engagement with some selected journalists in Accra on Sunday the 25th of August 2024, Dr. Bawumia emphasize the NPP government’s remarkable accomplishments under the leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. These achievements he said span various sectors of the economy and have set a new benchmark for governance. Notably, Dr. Bawumia highlighted his government’s achievements in the Health Sector where he said Ghana now boasts the largest medical drone delivery system globally.
Additionally, he said the One Constituency One Ambulance policy has revitalized the ambulance service, preventing a possible collapse.
On Economic Management, Dr. Bawumia emphasized that the current data clearly demonstrates the NPP government’s superior performance in managing the economy compared to the John Mahama Administration.
“The NPP has outperformed the NDC across various sectors,” he added.
In light of these achievements, Dr. Bawumia also criticized recent comments made by the Flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, attributing them to a lack of understanding of the data that places the NPP ahead of the NDC.
