LGBTQ+ is the acronym for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, or Questioning. The plus (+) represents other sexual identities including pansexual and two Two- spirits.

In 2021, Ghanaians leaders appeal to legalize LGBTQ+ in the country and ask for the views of the citizens. Celebrities also shared their views concerning LGBTQ+, some support it whiles others disagree with the legalization.

1.Wanlov De Kubulor

Emmanuel Owusu Bonsu popular known as Kubulor is a Ghanaian Romanian musician and film director. Kubulor showed solidarity with members of the LGBTQ+ community in Ghana. He used his social media pages to advance arguments in defense of their orientation.

2. Sister Derby

Ghanaian singer and model Debora Vannessa Owusu Bonsu supported LGBTQ+ by saying we should love the critics rather than hate them. She made it clear that citizens are mostly fear of what they don’t know

3. Panji Anoff

Panji Anoff is a Ghanaian music producer and artist manager. He manages celebrities like Kubulor, Yaa Poni, Mensa among others.

Panji claims to being gay or lesbian is not a crime and therefore victims must be spared in the country. He says hating a victim of LGBTQ+ is a hindrance to their fundamental human right.

4. Shatta Wale

Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr. is a Ghanaian reggae-dancehall musician and entrepreneur. He also supports LGBTQ+ in Ghana. Shatta asks everyone to love and shouldn’t hate someone because the person engages in LGBTQ+. He expresses that it’s the human heart that matters not the sexual orientation.

5. Leila Djansi

Leila is an award-winning filmaker. She also supports LGBTQ+ in Ghana. She claims homosexuality has always been part of the African culture so it cant be rejected as an act in the Country.

Leila has the view that it protects the youth from discrimination.
