Ghanaian rapper Kwesi Arthur continues to receive words of appreciation for representing the nation at this year’s 2020 BET Hip-Hop Cypher.
As is known, the BET Hip-Hop Cypher is held as a herald to the annual award ceremony. In this event, rappers make appearances to match skills and wits in efforts to battle for supremacy.
Despite the absence of a Ghanaian act in the nominations for this year’s 2020 BET Hip-Hop awards, many citizens are expressing satisfaction at seeing Kwesi Arthur being featured on the cypher.
In October 2019, the BET Hip-Hop’s Best International Flow category was won by Sarkodie. Being his second BET award, Sark delivered a moving speech upon receipt of the plaque on the stage.
This August, Kwesi Arthur won the 2020 VGMA Best Rapper of the Year award and subsequently being the only Ghanaian to be featured in the cypher gives credence to the international appeal of his rap style.
Currently considered one of the best young artists in Ghana, and Africa, this is by no means the Tema-based rapper’s debut on the BET stage. In 2018, he gained his first BET nomination and in ensuing years, he has gone ahead to gain other nominations from international award schemes.
