Ghana’s interim coach Otto Addo has named a 27-man squad for the Black Stars’ upcoming FIFA World Cup playoff game against Nigeria.
The squad was announced by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in the early hours of Tuesday, March 22, 2022.
The goalkeepers invited include Joojo Wollacott, Abdul Manaf Nurudeen and Richard Ofori. Club Brugge defender Denis Odoi has also been handed a debut call-up and joins Andy Yiadom, Gideon Mensah, Alexander Djiku and Joseph Aidoo as the defenders invited.
In midfield, Addo has called up Baba Iddrisu, Edmund Addo, Mohammed Kudus, Thomas Partey and Daniel Kofi Kyereh.
Meanwhile, AS Roma starlet Felix Afena-Gyan has also been handed a debut call-up and will compete against fellow forwards Christopher Antwi-Adjei and Kwasi Wriedt.
Meanwhile, Jordan Ayew has also been named in the squad despite returning a positive COVID-19 test at Crystal Palace on Sunday.
The first leg of the World Cup playoff game is scheduled for Friday, March 25, 2022, while the second leg will take place on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.
The Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi will host the first leg of the 2022 World Cup playoff game between Ghana and Nigeria.
