Insult Is An Indication Of Intellectual Cowardice – Kweku Baako Jnr Jabs

Take it or leave it, but, Kweku Baako Jnr as a veteran Ghanaian journalist and the editor-in-chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper has paid his dues to Ghana’s democratic dispensation (more specifically during this Fourth Republic). Known for his blunt submissions as a frequent panelist on radio shows in Ghana, including Peace FM’s weekday morning show and Newsfile, a current affairs program on Joy FM, he’s a role model to many up-and-coming journalists.

People revere him because of his uncompromisingly forthright nature anytime he gets closer to his microphone as a panelist. Reacting to Martin A.B.K Amidu’s resignation on Kwami Sefa Kayi’s show today, he made it clear that he is disappointed with his comrade (Martin Amidu) who has been hailed as an anti-corruption crusader for over two decades.

He added that he is not able to make some of these remarks everywhere except on the radio because he has been bombarded with insults on WhatsApp and Facebook from people he names as unknown assailants.

“In my candid opinion, if you choose insult over evidence in any intellectual intercourse, then I see you as an intellectual coward,” Kweku Baako Jnr said on Wednesday’s Kokrokoo.
