The Inspector-General of the Nigeria Police Force, Muhammed Adamu has announced that police officers who lost their lives and those who got injured in the wake of the violence that erupted during the #EndSARS protests across Nigeria will receive promotion.
According to the IGP, police officers who fell victims for violence that erupted during the will continue to enjoy health insurance even after retirement.
He made this announcement after assessing burnt police stations in Edo state on Wednesday, November 4.
Speaking on police officers who lost their lives under the period of the protests, Mr Mohammed Adamu noted that families of the police officers who lost their lives and those injured will be compensated fully.
He said;
“While in service, we registered for Health Insurance Scheme but it stops when we retired. Now, this government said no, it is not encouraging and it is now part of the law that those that have retired from the force will continue to enjoy health insurance scheme.”
