I wanted Ebony to become a lawyer – Starboy Kwarteng

Starboy Kwarteng, father of late promising dancehall musician, Ebony Reigns has revealed what he wanted her daughter to be.

The controversial man in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM said he wanted her beloved daughter to become a legal practitioner.

According to him, when Ebony disclosed her intentions of doing music, he quickly drove her out of the room.

He said; “When Ebony revealed to me that she wanted to do music, I drove her out of my room, because I wanted her to become a lawyer. She came back 15 minutes later, with the same demand, and I gave her my blessing.”

Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng (16 February 1997 – 8 February 2018), known by her stage name Ebony Reigns, was a Ghanaian dancehall/Afrobeats artist known for her hit songs “Poison” and “Kupe”. She was discovered by Bullet from Ruff n Smooth.

Ebony Reigns was killed instantly in a traffic collision on 8 February 2018 whilst returning from Sunyani to Accra after a visit to her mother.

Her assistant and longtime friend Franklina Yaa Nkansah Kuri and soldier Atsu Vondee were also killed in the fatal accident. The only survivor of the fatal crash was the driver. She died eight days before her 21st birthday.
