“I want to play for Ghana in the next AFCON” – Asamoah Gyan reveals

Asamoah Gyan who has not played for the Black Stars since the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt has revealed that he wants to be in the Blackstars shirt once again.

According to the former Black captain, he believes he cannot be ruled out totally out of the squad for the 2021 AFCON which will be held in Cameroon claiming that “anything can happen.”

The Legon Cities FC player made these submissions speaking in an interview with TV3’s sports team.

He is reported to have said;

There might be surprises, anything can happen. I may not be up now but you might see me in January who knows

I feel like I did my best. In football, anything can happen. I have been closer to it [winning the AFCON] on so many occasions; I went to the final two times.

The year] 2015 was our chance but we blew it away but I always believe in destiny. I did what I had to do to make sure Ghana wins it.

Asamoah Gyan announced his retirement from international football after a 16-year career with the Ghana national team in May 2019.
