“I use to think I was ugly when I was black” – MzBel on bleaching

Veteran Ghanaian songstress Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, popularly known as MzBel has revealed she used to think she was ugly when she had black skin.

MzBel after rising to fame, following the release of her ’16 years’ single decided to change her skin color to that of Michael Jackson’s.

The songstress metamorphosed from black to a white girl but the reason behind her bleached skin was never known.

Years after taking the ‘Michael Jackson’ road, MzBel has expressed her regrets in bleaching.

According to her, she thought being black looked so dirty hence her decision to fall on bleaching which did not go down well with her.

In an Instagram post sighted by Gossips24.com, she wrote; “used to think I was ugly. I thought being black is dirty, so I took to skin bleaching and suffered horrible side effects years later. But that is the result of self-hate.
I shared my story and got help, now I’ve learned to say: ‘You know what? I am a beautiful black woman.
