I Never Knew The Song Was An Endorsement For NPP; I Was Left In The Dark – Kuami Eugene Speaks On Song With Sarkodie

Award-winning Ghanaian singer, Kuami Eugene has disclosed that he never knew Sarkodie’s latest single, Happy Day which featured him was an endorsement song for the incumbent New Patriotic Party.

“I have every right to be uncomfortable with the song, because, I hate to be kept in the shadows,” he added.

According to him, the verse that was sent to him, out of which he crafted the chorus was an inspirational song and not a political song.

He only got to hear the shouts to Prez. Nana Addo and his achievements in the song during the shoot for the video.

“It was during the video shoot that I first heard the endorsement for the President with the tags of ‘Nana Toaso’ and the Battle is the Lord’s,” he explained.

He proceeded to state that his discomfort made him ready his management to contact Sarkodie’s management for clearness, and the folks from Sarkcess expressed that the tune isn’t an endorsement tune like many have it.

“I am uncomfortable but not disappointed in the final outcome of the song because it is a craft and Sarkodie may have his reasons for doing that and I won’t trash it.”

In the wake of the song making waves since its release, several fans of the BET Hip Hop Best International Flow winner have threatened to stop listening to his songs until he stops campaigning for the NPP.

Meanwhile, Sarkodie is yet to respond to any of the reports about the alleged endorsement.
