After her performance at the just-ended Ashaiman to the World concert, Ghanaian gospel songstress, Gifty Osei, received a massive backlash from Ghanaians as people do not get why a gospel musician would perform at a secular show.
However, in a recent interview on Citi TV, Gifty Osei made it known that she does not really listen to what people say, asking people to calm down with her because she is a normal human as they are. There is no real exception with her and all gospel musicians.
In her own words, she said:
My husband is one person who does that, and then my mom and my pastor. They understand me very well. Maybe people get a little bit confused with the way I approach issues, but that is me; that is my character. I need not fake it; I am a real person… I’m not the Holy Spirit. I’m not the Holy Ghost. I am a human being. As you get orgasm, I also get orgasm (laughs). I want you guys to know that I am a human being. As a gospel musician, I have feelings.
I don’t respond to critics. You see, I just want them to do the right thing. You take my content; anything you see out there is my content; when you take it, treat it with respect because creativity is difficult. Don’t disrespect my content.
