List of Ghanaian musicians who lost prominence at their prime

In as much as many Ghanaian singers tend to stay relevant for a long time in the music fraternity, some tend to fade away just after making waves.

This unfortunate incident is mostly a result of the level of competition in the industry.

Some artists could not maintain their relevance because other acts came in stronger just at the moment of their prime.

Below are some Ghanaian artists who could maintain their level of fame for a long.

1. EL

EL is one of Ghana’s finest rappers and can even boast of winning the most prestigious Artist of the year award at the VGMA. Unfortunately, EL lost prominence right after he won the artiste of the year. He however continues to bless his fans with amazing songs.

2. Gasmilla

Gasmilla came into prominence during the era of the “Azonto” dance. His song “Telemor” broke barriers and threw the country into a massive jam. However, the Ga singer faded away with the “Azonto” dance.

3. Bisa Kdei

Many people may wonder how such an iconic Highlife singer suddenly went silent. According to Bisa, some radio personalities ganged up to sabotage his career by not playing his songs. However, Bisa Kdei’s song “Asew” gained a feature in a Hollywood movie.

4. Guru

Guru just had to be on this list following his latest controversy. The “Lapaz Toyota” hitmaker recently came out to CEO of Lynx entertainment, Richie Mensah for trying to sink his career. Guru as we all know has been out of the music for some time now.
