Ghanaian rapper and songwriter Kwame Ametepee Tsikata popularly known as Manifest has shared his views on the recent crime rate and kidnapping in Ghana.
According to the ‘No shortcut to heaven‘ hitmaker, it’s irresponsible on the part of the media to blame Nigerians for the crimes in Ghana were Ghanaians are also involved.
He made his comment on the back of the of the high-profile kidnap case which involved two Canadian women in Ghana.
Even before investigations began, most of the media pointed accusing fingers at Nigerians for being behind it.
However, it turned out that 5 Ghanaians were behind it and only 3 Nigerians involved.
M.anifest thinks it’s so wrong for the media to publish such stories and wondered if they will be happy if Ghanaians are treated the same in other countries.
He tweeted; “It’s irresponsible for Ghanaian media to be quick to finger point and headline Nigerians for crime in Ghana, even when Ghanaians are also involved. Crime has no nationality. We want to “other” people who look like us. Complain when it happens to us abroad. DO BETTER.”
