GH¢4,000 goes missing after police broke into MP for Tarkwa-Nsuaem’s house

Member of Parliament for Tarkwa Nsuaem, George Mireku Duker has accused Tarkwa Divisional Police Command of unlawful breaking-in and entry into his house.

According to the Chronicle Newspaper, the MP alleged that officers from the command on Thursday forcibly broke into his home without a search warrant and ransacked his living room in search of a suspect the police believed was hiding in the house.

Mr. Duker said just after their search, an amount of of GH¢4,000 went missing.

The lawmaker further alleged that, his 90-year-old grandfather who was in the house at the time was also manhandled by the police.
