GBC journalist Abdul Hayi Moomen robbed (Photos)

Broadcast journalist with state-owned broadcaster, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation(GBC), Abdul Hayi Moomen, has been robbed.

The journalist had the glass of his vehicle smashed and items including a video camera, secret video recorder, lapel microphones, 2 floodlights, and a tripod stolen by the suspected thief.

One person has so far been arrested in connection with the robbery and is in police custody.

The attack on the journalist comes less than a month after he reported being threatened by some individuals.

Moomen, announcing the robbery in a post on his Facebook page shared pictures of the salon car which shows one of the back windows at the left side smashed.

Giving some details about the break-in, Moomen wrote: “He stole my video camera, secret video recorder, lapel microphones, 2 floodlights and a tripod.”

Moomen then added in a separate post: “They say they know where I live and that, that job will be easy.”

“It’s a thief. Simple and straight. Please do not drag me into needless politics. Please,” he wrote.
