Creative rapper and songwriter, Freda Rhymz, has hinted that she is not happy at her current record label, Black Avenue Musik (BAM) owned by rapper and businessman, D-Black.
The “Pay” spitter has been one of the label’s biggest artistes but it appears the relationship might be starting to sour.
Freda Rhymz, whose real name is Freda Baffour Awuah has voice out some of her frustrations with the label.
She told Ameyaw TV in an interview at the launch of the second edition of the Ghana Entertainment Awards USA that, she feels she deserves more and that she might no longer be top priority at the label.
She indicated that her management is not working hard enough to put her works out there and it worries her.
Asked by Zeinat, the interviewee if she has made her concerns known to the BAM record label, she replied in the affirmative and added that management seemed to be working on it.
The rapper who has stated categorically that she’s the best in her field and need not to be compared with anybody entreated Ghanaians to support her kind of music.
Freda Rhymz made history as the first female contestant to win reality music talent hunt, MTN Hitmaker in 2017 and won the admiration of many including the CEO of SarkCess Music, Sarkodie, who promised to work with her. Freda Rhymz beat Xila, Drew, and Yaw Berk to win the GHS100,000 recording deal.
She signed unto Black Avenue Musik that same year. Freda makes music in three languages (English, Twi, and Pidgin) The type of music she creates ranges across Afrobeats, Hip-hop, Hiplife and Highlife. She has songs like “Saa Chick Nu”, ” I Dey Go”, and “Pay” to her credit.
