Forget Nigeria, Ghana music is the foundation for Afrobeat – Stonebwoy (video)
Celebrated Afro-dancehall originator, Livingstone Etse Satekla, known widely as Stonebwoy has made another bold statement about Ghanaian music.
Stonebwoy in an interview with Nigerian entertainment mogul, Ubi Franklin revealed Ghana music has always been the foundation for most genres that evolve in Africa.
According to Stonebwoy, Afrobeat is not strong in Nigeria as it is in Ghana. He believes Ghanaian music projects Afrobeat because of the vibe it comes with and the versatility among Ghanaian artistes who do Afrobeat.
He stated that Ghana music will remain the foundation of Afrobeat because it carries weight than the others.
This comes few weeks after Stone in an interview asserted that Nigerians always have to pass through Ghana before they blow. He said though he knows his statement on Afrobeat will also be in the news, he doesn’t care because that is the gospel truth and nothing can change that.
