Foreigners who tested positive for coronavirus in Tamale rejected by their countries

Salifu Saeed, Northern Region Minister has revealed that all the ten foreign nationals who tested positive for coronavirus in Tamale have been rejected by their respective countries.

The cases, eight Guineans and two Burkinabes who traveled from Burkina Faso and Togo through unapproved routes to Ghana, had been kept under state mandatory quarantine since Saturday, March 28.

Minister of Information, Hon. Kojo Oppong in an earlier press briefing also disclosed that the foreigners who test positive for Coronavirus in Tamale will be repatriated back to their country of origin.

But speaking on Tamale-based television station Sagani, the Northern Regional Minister said, “Their countries are refusing to take them back”.
