“All the #Fixthecountry campaigners have been paid by the NDC” – NPP’s Freddie Blay alleges

The #Fixthecountry trend has received mixed reactions from Ghanaians – Whiles some believe that t is a call in the right direction to demand better governance from our leaders, others are also of the view that the country can only be fixed if we the citizens first fix ourselves.

It is at the back of this debate that the Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has waded in his thoughts over the whole brouhaha and according to him all the #Fixthecountry campaigners have been paid by the NDC or are staunch supporters of the largest opposition party.

As argued by the NPP bigwig, the nation is currently on a sure path to recovery and the government has put measures in place to fix all the issues.

During an interview with Starr News, he said;

t’s a democratic country, you can have an opinion, maybe most of the NDC people and maybe they are even referring to what then-candidate Akufo-Addo did say that when you are in power and people are complaining that things aren’t going well, fix it. Of course, the government is in the act of fixing the problems in this country.”

Talk about dumsor, it’s not the dumsor as we know it in the NDC era that took place for four years, a few problems that we encountering. We are having problems with our distributing lines and definitely, efforts are being made to repair the broken down ones.

So, if they say we should fix the country, definitely at our pace we doing that, a pace that Ghanaians will be happy with. We have explained that the situation is not permanent, it’s just a three-four months situation that people are making it look as if everything is broken down and we are not doing anything about it.

In other news, the Greater Accra Regional Police Command says it cannot sanction the proposed #FixTheCountry protest that was to take place this Sunday because it goes against the ban on public gatherings.
