Reports reaching Gossips24.com indicates five persons including the driver of a Toyota pickup truck have died in a gory accident on Saturday evening on the Obuasi-Dunkwa road.
The report also indicated that 17 other passengers who were onboard prior to the head-on collision sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a hospital in Obuasi.
We are told the incident happened around 7 p.m when the Toyota Hilux pickup which was heading towards Dunkwa tried to overtake a leading vehicle and in the course of the overtaking collided with a Sprinter bus.
The driver of the pickup, who has been identified as Alhaji Mustapha Iddrissu, 50, died on the spot together with three other passengers on board the bus.
A fifth person later died at the hospital bringing the total number of casualties to five.
