The deceased was serving 10year sentence for selling Indian hemp.
While alive, she revealed to Ibrahim that hardship led her to trade in the illegal substance as she needed money to feed herself, children and grandchildren.
In the course of serving her sentence she was hit by a serious sickness and Atsu from Crime Check Foundation financed her treatment at Korle-bu where she underwent surgery.
The surgery proved successful after which she was put on dialysis but shortly after this she passed away.
