#EndSARS Candlelight Procession Held In Hungary To Mourn Protestors Who Died During End SARS Protests In Nigeria (Photos)

Following the demise of some peaceful protestors in the wake of End SARS protests, Nigerians in Hungary held a candlelight procession to honour those who lost their lives as a result of shooting by Nigeria Police and Army Force during the End SARS protests in Nigeria.

The End SARS protests began on October 8 when indigenous youth of Nigeria took to the streets of Nigeria to demand an end to police brutality and injustice levelled against them by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS)- a division of the Nigerian Police Force.

Prior to the Lekki shooting, a number of protesters had already met their untimely death during the peaceful protests, including Jimoh Ishiaq who was killed on Saturday, October 10, 2020, when a policeman opened fire during End SARS protest in Oyo state.

Another death was also recorded on October 12 in Ojuelegba, Surulere, when police opened fire on protesters.

To mourn those passed away while lending their voice to an end to police brutality in Nigeria, Hungary-based Nigerians held a candlelight procession on Sunday night, October 25.

A placard from the candlelight procession reads, “For all the lives we lost in the fight to #EndSARS & #PoliceBrutality.”
