Dubai’s Ruler To Pay Ex-Wife 554 Million Pounds As Divorce Settlement

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum who is the ruler of Dubai has had a British court ordering for him to pay a whopping £550 million ($730 million) to her ex-wife and children.

The court’s order comes after the ex wife of the ruler known as Princess Haya bint al-Hussein, half-sister of Jordan’s King Abdullah was said toi have fleed to Britain and seeked for custody of her two children.

According to reports the case of Princess Haya bint al-Hussein led to the court orderng for him tomake a one-off payment of 251.5 million pounds within three months to Haya for the upkeep of her British mansions, to cover the money she said she was owed for jewellery and racehorses, and for her future security costs.

The case which was presided by the judge known as Philip Moor explained that the fine would help them in the secuirty which needs to be  “water-tight security,” as well as provide for the upkeep of the princess and her children.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Mak is said to have two children with his ex wife namely; Jalila, 14, and Zayed, 9.
