The Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has taken to social media to mourn the late Mfantseman MP, Ekow Hayford Quansah

In a social media post made by the second gentleman of the land who is currently on a regional tour, the vice president described how pained he is upon hearing the news on the late New Patriotic Party MP.

Hon. Hayford was shot in the early hours of Friday dawn by persons believed to be notorious armed robbers while on his way from a campaign tour with his driver and a few others.

According to an eyewitness report, while the robbery was ongoing, the MP identified himself. This allegedly infuriated the robbers who blamed him for being a part of the problems being faced by people in the country.

Mourning late Hayford, Dr Bawumia wrote; “I am pained and stunned by news of the untimely death of Hon. Ekow Kwansa Hayford, Member of Parliament for Mfantseman constituency. It is my hope that the perpetrators of this heinous crime are brought to book. My utmost condolences to his family, constituents and well-wishers.May the gentle soul of Kwansa rest in peace.”
