In a recent interview on Onua FM, Dennis Nana Dwamena, better known as Kidi, in a recent interview has advised his colleagues, secular musicians, not to look down on gospel musicians, especially when it comes to awards.
He used his experience from the 22nd Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, where he was almost crowned artiste of the year but lost to gospel sensation, Diana Hamilton, but with hard work and perseverance, he came back and was crowned artiste of the year this year after a fierce race with Black Sherif.
Speaking during the interview, Kidi said:
“Everyone in that category, in my opinion, had a chance to win. It is how it is. But you should be wary of gospel musicians. They may easily get votes. Their votes are distinctive and challenging to predict,”
Social media provided more choices. According to social media, it was between myself and Black Sheriff. I believed that anybody might have chosen it. Black Sheriff is succeeding. one young artist with talent. really talented
