Coronavirus cases in Ghana rise to 52

Ghana’s coronavirus case count has risen to 52. As of Monday, March 23, 2020, the country had confirmed only 27 cases with 2 deaths recorded and 25 cases being active.

Health Minister Kwaku Agyeman Manu announced during Tuesday’s address that 1,030 travellers into the country from Sunday have been quarantined.

Of that number, 611 samples have been taken. Testing for 185 of those have been completed with 25 testing positive.

This is the first time a country in Africa has seen such a huge jump in the number of confirmed cases of the deadly virus.
