Coronavirus: 598 contacts traced – Ghana Health Service

Dr. Badu Sarkodie, Director of Public Health at the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has disclosed that Ghana has currently managed to trace 598 contacts following the confirmed cases of 52 (currently) coronavirus infections.

Updating Ghanaians on the current state of Ghana’s cases, he said: “In respect of contact tracing, a total of 598 contacts have been identified and are being tracked. One (1) of the contacts developed symptoms and has been confirmed positive.”

“All the twenty-five (25) confirmed cases are receiving treatment in isolation. Among the confirmed cases, twenty (20) are of Ghanaian nationality, majority of whom returned home from affected countries. Seven (7) are of other nationals namely: Norway, Lebanon, China, France, UK,” he added.

Meanwhile, Health Minister, Hon. Agyemang Manu announced a few minutes ago that, confirmed coronavirus cases in Ghana have skyrocketed to 52.
