In a recent interview with 3FM, a man believed to be Jonathan, a church elder, revealed how he lost his life savings and properties to betting.
According to the man who claims he is really addicted to betting, a friend introduced him to betting and, with his first stake, he made about GHC3,900. He also won the second time and that made him even ask God why he was suffering when this simple avenue for making money was there.
The rest is history, but now the man is using his life as a story to help people get out of addiction.
In his own words, he said:
I was originally introduced to betting by a buddy, and my initial wager was GHC GHC 5,000. I was a beginner, but the person who introduced me was skilled in sports analysis, so I made GHC 3,900, “
“The second time, I wagered 3,000 Ghana Cedis and won 5,000 Ghana Cedis.” I bet GHC 20,000 the third time and won GHC 80,000. I prayed to God and wondered where this had been during all of my pain. I had no idea there was a way to get wealthy, and on that particular day, the gambling spirit sawped deeply into my bones and veins.
