Burna Boy wows Africans with powerful speech after making history at BET

Nigerian Afro-fusion artiste, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, gave a powerful speech after winning the Best International Act Award at this year’s BET.

This happens to be the second year in a row for the ‘African Giant’ after taking home the plaque in 2019.

He beat the likes of  Innoss’B (DRC), Sho Madjozi (South Africa) Dave (UK), Stormzy (UK), Ninho (France) and S.Pri Noir (France).

Naomi Campbell presented the Best International Act #BETAwards 20 to Burna Boy who in-turn gave a powerful speech on Black Lives and Africa.

He said;

Thank you very much, BET.

Second time and I appreciate it.

I will like to use this opportunity to say that sometime around 1835, there was admission to turn the nation of Africa into a dominated nation. Now is the time to return and go back to the royalty that we were, because, in order for black lives to matter, Africa must matter.

Africans have since the acceptance speech been praising Burna for using the global platform to promote the African course.
