Brother sets pregnant sister ablaze for slapping their mother

A Nigerian man has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly setting his two-months pregnant sister identified as Victoria ablaze for slapping their mother at their residence.

The 20-year-old pregnant lady, Victoria, was set ablaze at C.A.C bus stop in Okokomaiko area of Ojo Local Government.

She was confirmed dead by medical doctors. Victoria died hours after her brother, who was said to be instructed by their mother to scold the pregnant lady over her recent actions, grabbed a jerry can already fill with Petroleum Motor Spirit (PMS) in their restaurant and doused the deceased with the content and set her ablaze.

The culprit who wanted to escape from the scene after realizing the harm he had caused, was nabbed by some young men in the community who later handed Chima over to the police.

The spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Bala Elkana revealed that their mother also sustained some injuries after she tried to put out the fire and also stated that Chima will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department(SCIID) for further investigation.
