Breaking: Sudan Hit With Coup Detat As Prime Minister Is On House Arrest

News information coming in from Sudan has revealed that the prime minister of Sudan Abdalla Hamdok has been placed on house arrest by security officers after he failed to announce a statement in support of an ongoing coup.

According to reports, security forces had besieged the prime minister’s home and placed him under house arrest as well as taking into custody Industry Minister Ibrahim al-Sheikh, and the governor of Sudan’s capital Khartoum, Ayman Khalid.

Soldiers have been said to have surrounded the house of some other leaders of the country for failing to support the coup.

A statement that was released by the ministry today revealed that the officials were taken from their homes this dawn.

Sudan has been said to be on the edge after the military failed to successfully work out a coup plot last month as it has led to bitter recriminations between military and civilian groups meant to be sharing power following the toppling of the country’s long-time leader Omar al-Bashir.
