C.K Akonnor Not Paid For 10 Months – Why Are Politicians Like That?!

If you soak in the way some Ghanaians are treated in this country, you may boot the concept of patriotism away from your citizenship dictionary. I wonder why politicians find every possible means to process their gargantuan salaries, allowances, entitlements, ex gratia, and so on but always give excuses when it is the turn of other workers in this same country. We were in this country when some teachers worked for 3 to 5 years without salaries all in the name of “processing their documents” whilst MPs, Ministers and other political office holders were living off their fat salaries! This has nothing to do with NPP or NDC or CPP or whichever party but the selfish interests of the Ghanaian politician.

Well, the Black Stars coach is also facing the “no salary” issue as his predecessor, Akwasi Appiah did!

Ghana Football Association (GFA) General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo, has revealed that C.K Akonnor and his staff haven’t been paid since their appointment.

Recall that C.K Akonnor was appointed in January to replace Akwasi Appiah with a salary of $25,000.

In an interview with Asempa Fm, Mr. Harrison made this shocking revelation…

“I’m sure the Sports Ministry will pay them when there is money but we are always in constant communication with them [Akonnor and Duncan] so they know what the situation is,” Harrison Addo said on Asempa FM, Wednesday.

So, for 10 months now C.K Akonnor hasn’t received even a pesewa as salary? No wonder the Black stars have failed to impress us. How can you coach and deliver on an empty stomach?
