Elections 2020: Bishop Agyin Asare advises John Mahama to choose peace over the presidency

Founder and leader of Perez Chapel, Bishop Agyin Asare, has laced in his thoughts into the the ongoing brouhaha surrounding the just ended presidential elections.

The esteemed man of God has counselled the NDC and their flagbearer, John Mahama, to accept the EC’s verdict in good fate and drown their bitter sentiments over the electoral body’s declaration of Nana Addo as the president-elect.

Speaking to his congregation last Sunday over the impending chaos which might befall unto the nation if lead members of the NDC continues with their protests and press conferences, he said;

To him, John Mahama who is contesting the presidential results we pray you do it peacefully.

In 2012 when a similar thing happened it was not easy in this country, also a number of people have already lost their lives.

Nobody needs to die because of an election, we, therefore, condemn the use of firearms on unarmed civilians.

We ask that proper investigations be conducted in the deaths of people who wanted to defend their votes because democracy is not a war
