Asamoah Gyan Leaves Legon Cities As Contract Ends

Former captain of the Black Stars Asamoah Gyan has been said to have ended his one-year contract with legon cities coming to an end after playing for them since the 2020/2021 season.

The player whose signing for the club brought about a lot of buzz on social media was said to have played very poorly in all the matches he played.

Asamoah Gyan was said to have played six matches and scored no goal with no assist which makes it very hard for the club to renew its contract.

Mr Kwame Dwomoh Agyemang who is the Communications Director of Legon Cities revealed that the departure of Gyan marks a start of a new direction for the club.

According to him the club and Gyan have sat down to agree to their contract with him not being renewed as the new coach Maxwell Konadu seeks to cause a change in the club.

“The two parties have decided to go their separate ways, so the deal was not renewed. After the contract was reviewed, the club and the new manager wanted to go in a certain direction and as a club, we believe that should support the coach”.
