Ghana Black Stars defender Andy Yiadom has come out to defend South Africa on the penalty that was awarded to Ghana during the world cup qualify match.
According to him watching the penalty from the field looked more like it was indeed a penalty but sitting back after the match to watch it showed how soft the penalty was.
Andy Yiadom made this revelation while speaking to BBC World Service as he claimed it is football and mistakes can be made at any point in time by the referee.
“When I was on the pitch it looked like it was a penalty, but I have watched it back it was a little bit soft,” the Ghana defender told World Football on the BBC World Service. But it is football and I have had them given against me plenty of times and it is one of those things and it was about actually scoring the penalty which we did.”
