Afrobeats is the future and we need to give it priority- Kelvyn Boy

Afrobeats Artiste Kelvyn Boy has called on industry players of Ghana Music Industry to pay critical attention to the Afrobeats Genre.

Speaking in an interview with Amansan Krakye on Radio Central, the form Burniton Music Group signee called for concerted effort to ensure that afrobeat as a genre of music is given the necessary support to thrive in Ghana.

On why it’s difficult or easy to make a mainstream breakthrough with afrobeat, Kelvyn Boy said “it’s not hard or difficult to breakthrough with Afrobeat. It’s not hard for you the artiste. That’s what we are used to all these years.

“That’s what the likes of Osibisa did and it was inspired by highlife. That’s what we have been listening to. No wonder we now have Afrobeat as a category in the VGMA.”

“It’s just about we accepting it and last year 2019 during the year of return, everyone was talking about Afrobeat during most of the concerts.”
