Abia Education Director arrested for fraud

Mr Wogu Alozie who is the Director for education in the Abia State Ministry has been summoned by police for questioning in connection with an alleged fraud case.

Mr Alozie has been accused of illegally collecting N500 from every pupil in all of the state’s primary and secondary schools.

Professor Anthony Agbazuere, the Governor of Abia State’s Chief of Staff, stated the suspect “sent letters to Primary and Secondary Schools in the State, collecting?500 from every student without the Governor’s approval.”

“Abia State Governor, Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, PhD is highly disturbed that one Wogu Alozie, a Director in the Ministry of Education, issued letters to Primary and Secondary Schools in the State, collecting? 500 from every student without the Governor’s approval,” Prof. Agbazuere said in a statement.

He continued that;

The said Wogu Alozie who signed for the Permanent Secretary without the consent of the said Permanent Secretary, has owned up to the illicit act and is presently with the Police to completely unmask the syndicate.

All those who pad salaries, hide under the cover of government to defraud people or engage in other forms of corruption are advised in their own interest to have a rethink or be prepared taste the sour waters of the law
